Frequently Asked Questions
SiteWorx is an industrial Internet of Things (IoT) company that helps large buildings save energy and money. We produce IoT hardware that connects to our flagship SiteWorx cloud software platform to meter, monitor, and control resources like water, air, gas, and electricity. Key capabilities include advanced lighting control, occupancy based HVAC and load controls, alerts when environmental readings go out of range, and monitoring of the energy and dollars saved across every site, globally.
SiteWorx reduces energy usage in different ways depending on the deployment objectives and facility type. With lighting automation, SiteWorx uses occupancy data to dim or turn off fixtures based on real data – no shift schedules. That data can also be used to turn off loads like fans and desk equipment, or throttle back air compressors after hours. When integrated with HVAC systems, occupancy data from SiteWorx can be combined with time-of-day schedules to automatically setback temperatures in unoccupied spaces. SiteWorx can be further integrated with specialized equipment onsite for more energy-saving use cases.
SiteWorx does more than report usage. It directly controls lighting, HVAC, electrical loads, and other devices based on occupancy data and provides performance tracking to sustain savings over time, rather than simply showing you charts after the fact.
Lighting energy use accounts for a substantial operating cost in many buildings. SiteWorx is uniquely designed to provide state-of-the-art controls that reduce energy consumption and provide an attractive return on investment. Implementation simultaneously extends the SiteWorx wireless network into every part of a building for further water, air, gas, and electricity management strategies.
SiteWorx IoT devices are installed onto core building equipment like lighting fixtures, HVAC systems, and electrical loads using industry standard communication protocols. The devices then communicate via a wireless mesh network to SiteWorx cloud gateways. The gateways are securely connected to the internet via CAT6 cabling using the site's internet connection to communicate with the SiteWorx cloud.
